Notes:

Using all frozen ingredients will make for a thicker smoothie. Feel free to toss in an unfrozen banana for a smoother (and less cold) smoothie.

My personal favorite protein powder is Garden of Life’s All-In-One protein. Both the chocolate and vanilla flavors are great (chocolate protein powder with peanut butter & vanilla powder with almond butter, great combos). I love their protein because they have 20g protein, 44 different superfoods, 7g Fiber per scoop, as well as probiotic and enzyme blends.

A green smoothie with their protein powder is my daily multi-vitamin.

I recommend finding a plant-powered protein powder from your local health food store. Think of this as a small investment that will be your back-up on hectic days, in the morning or before a workout, anytime that you might not be able to sit down for a full meal but still need nourishment.

Ingredients:

1-2 cups frozen spinach

1 frozen banana (see note)

1/3 cup frozen blueberries

1 scoop protein powder (see note)

1 tablespoon single-ingredient nut butter (almond or peanut)

1 cup Activated Black Sesame Milk

add extra water for desired thickness

optional garnishes: cacao nibs, coconut flakes, foraged cherry blossom petals, activated charcoal, cinnamon

Directions:

Add all ingredients (besides water) to a blender.

Blend for 30 seconds at a time, giving a quick mix between blends.

Add water to achieve your desired smoothie consistency.

Serve and enjoy!
